Dudensing Law is proud to welcome four exceptional law students to the firm this summer each bringing a background in service, advocacy, and a commitment to standing up for those who have been wronged.

Liza Emesibe returns to Dudensing Law for her second summer, having clerked with the firm last year. Now a rising 3L at UC Davis School of Law, Liza brings familiarity with the firm’s work and a deepened understanding of the elder abuse and neglect cases at the heart of our practice.

Elizabeth (Buffy) Miksztal is a rising 3L at UC Berkeley School of Law, where she is currently co-president of Plaintiffs’ Law Association at Berkeley. Before law school, Buffy worked as an EMT and responded to calls at skilled nursing and retirement facilities, an experience that gives her firsthand insight into the vulnerabilities our clients face. She externed for District Court Judge Pitts during her 1L summer, where she observed how plaintiff-side civil litigation can be used as a tool to help vulnerable populations and advance justice.

Rebab Alkhafaji is a rising 2L at UC Davis School of Law. Prior to law school, Rebab worked as a social worker in adult services, advocating directly for older and vulnerable adults in the community. That experience translates seamlessly to the firm’s mission of holding institutions accountable for the harm done to those in their care.

Gavin Bowen is a rising 3L at UC Berkeley School of Law. At Berkeley Gavin is on the Alternative Dispute Resolution team and was an articles editor for Berkely Journal of Criminal Law. He also led the Animal Law and Advocacy Project. Gavin graduated with a degree in psychology and took time before law school to think carefully about the kind of lawyer he wanted to be, arriving at plaintiff-side litigation as the place where advocacy and integrity align.
