Dudensing Law Founder and Lead Counsel, Ed Dudensing, started his fight for elder abuse victims in Sacramento. As a Deputy District Attorney for Sacramento County, he first chaired more than 50 trials to verdict and handled some of the county’s earliest financial elder abuse prosecutions.

In 2003, Ed founded Dudensing Law, built around one cause: protecting Sacramento and California’s seniors. More than two decades later, the firm still calls Sacramento home, and its verdicts on behalf of local families have reshaped what accountability looks like in elder abuse litigation across the country.

Recognizing Abuse Before It Escalates

Signs of elder abuse can include unexplained bruises or fractures, rapid weight loss, pressure ulcers, poor hygiene, and sudden social withdrawal.

Many victims never report abuse because they fear retaliation, feel embarrassed, or remain loyal to a caregiver. Dementia and other cognitive impairments can also make it difficult for residents to communicate what they are experiencing.
