A MESSAGE FROM ED DUDENSING

Dear friends and colleagues,
When I founded Dudensing Law in 2003, it was with a singular focus: to protect California’s seniors from the neglect and exploitation too often driven by profit motivations of the owners of long-term care enterprises. Over the years, we’ve made meaningful progress—holding powerful corporations accountable and securing justice for vulnerable residents and their families. But the fight is far from over.
This newsletter is our way of keeping you informed and engaged. Each quarter, we’ll share key victories, ongoing threats, and the stories of the people leading the charge for change. I invite you to subscribe, follow us on LinkedIn and Facebook, and stand with us in the pursuit of dignity and justice for every elder in care.
With gratitude,
Ed
ANNOUNCEMENTS & ADVOCACY UPDATES
Earlier this year, we welcomed veteran prosecutor Matt Chisholm to the Dudensing Law team. Before coming to Dudensing Law, Matt served as Principal Attorney with the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office, where he led some of the region’s most high-stakes criminal prosecutions. He brings with him a track record of more than 70 jury trials, including 16 homicide cases, and deep expertise in prosecuting crimes involving domestic violence and elder abuse.
Matt’s commitment to justice and his courtroom experience will be a powerful asset in our fight to hold long-term care facilities accountable.

In response, Ed Dudensing spoke with Fierce Healthcare, warning that the decision “undermines the very safeguards designed to protect our elders’ dignity and well-being.” He emphasized that “adequate staffing is essential to ensuring safe, respectful care,” and called on political leaders to set aside differences and uphold these critical standards.

Daily Journal: Elder care during the Trump Administration: What’s at stake?
In an op-ed for the Daily Journal, Ed Dudensing analyzed what the second Trump Administration and the political rollback of critical nursing home protections could mean for millions of seniors. Ed outlined how past deregulation under the Trump Administration weakened safeguards, and why the next four years could determine whether elder care in America improves or deteriorates further.
